The purpose of tuning is to beef up cars performance and style. Lots ways exist to help you make the most out of your car. However, if you have never tuned for performance before, it can be a difficult topic. Unlike tuning strictly for style, performance customization requires that you adhere to modifications that offer real performance benefits, rather than just good looks. While many elements of the various tuning styles offer performance upgrades, some can actually take away from your performance. Here are the best clues and tips to help you maximize car performance while still making your car look hot.

*Body Kits* – Body kits can add a dramatic racecar inspired style to your current car. However, you’ll need to know what to look for in order to maximize the cars performance. For instance, body kits that include front bumpers can help you streamline your car to a greater extent, helping air to flow better over your car, rather than underneath it. Side skirts also help add performance and help your car hold the road better. Finally, back spoilers provide more down force on the rear of the vehicle, while diffusing airflow.

*Alloy Wheels* – Alloy wheels and tyres can help you hold the road or track much better. However, you’ll need to avoid chromed steel wheels. These are actually heavier than aluminum wheels, and can take from the performance of your car. Remember, the purpose of performance tuning is to lighten the car, rather than adding more weight. Rather than chromed steel, opt for aluminum wheels. These are much more lightweight and offer performance benefits.

*Custom Tyres* – If you are going to be racing your car, you’ll need tyres with more grip that what standard options offer. Z rated tyres are made of softer compounds than touring tyres or other consumer rated tyres. However, remember that softer rubber wears out more quickly than harder compounds. As a result, you’ll likely need to replace your tyres more often. Having more than one set of tyres (one for races and one for normal driving) can remove this problem.

*Suspension* – Your car’s suspension can also detract from car performance. Adding custom sway bars, coil over kits and strut bars can help you attain the suspension you need. This will make the difference between slowing down through a turn and being able to accelerate through a turn. It also helps eliminate problems like suspension sway and shifting during driving.

Utah Buick dealers are able to help you choose wisely between your buying and leasing options, not an easy task. One aspect of your choosing will relate to your personal values, feelings, priorities, and preferences. How crucial is it to you to drive a new vehicle every two or three years? How important is it to keep your repair risks minimal? How important is having a low monthly payment? How much do you desire a payment-free vehicle as soon as possible? Making decisions on these types of personal priorities helps you sort through the non-financial issues, but it’s also important to understand financial differences between the leasing and buying processes.

Through a six-year comparison of the three-year consecutive leases of two new $20,000 vehicles, with the purchase of a new $20,000 vehicle, there appears to be lots of difference in the amounts spent on down payments, insurance, monthly payments, taxes, maintenance, and DMV costs. The purchased vehicle (bought on a five-year loan) totaled $34,228 in costs over the six years and retained maybe a few thousand dollars of value at the end. The leased auto totaled $38,176 in the six years of costs and had no retained equity. That is a $4948 bigger cost for the leased cars, without adjusting for the purchased car’s retained value. The purchased vehicle did have one payment-free year out of the six. So, buying provides a vehicle with partial equity and higher monthly payments, for a lower overall cost. And leasing provides an auto for lower payments, no equity, and higher overall costs.

So, for the six-year comparison, purchasing a car is the cheaper route, but it has larger monthly payments that potentially could extend over a full six years. A purchaser would keep the same auto for six years instead of leasing a new one every three, but would have the option to keep the old vehicle for possibly many more years, until it died. Conversely, the leased auto has to go back to the dealer the instant the lease is over, rendering the driver vehicle-less.

Leasing offers the advantage of low or nonexistent down payments and lower sales taxes amounts, but it generally has higher insurance costs than purchasing does. Leased autos, however, usually have built-in gap coverage, while purchased autos almost never do. This means that when a financed vehicle is stolen or totaled, the debtor could end up paying off the bank balance (even for thousands of dollars) after the insurance company has settled.

Leasing a car is somewhat more complicated than buying one is, and it gives more opportunities to misinterpret and misunderstand the process and make mistakes. So, it’s prudent to be as informed and careful as possible when new to leasing. One thing to be aware of with leasing is that when it’s over and you turn in your vehicle, if you’ve exceeded your allowed miles, you will pay a penalty. To get more leasing and buying information, visit your GMC, Buick, or Pontiac dealers in Utah.

Beaverton lock and key tech can assist you with problems to your lock systems anytime you call them. Their Beaverton locksmith service is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whatever difficulties you incur, just give them a call and they will be there to help.

lock and key tech services vary. Basically, there are two different types of lock and key tech services. One is the residential lock and key techs. The other is commercial or business lock and key techs. When you call for their aid, you may be asked which one you require. Should you choose a residential or commercial one?

Residential and commercial lock and key techs do not really differ a lot. What distinguishes one from the other depends largely on the type of premises they service. If you require a residential lock and key tech, then most likely, you live in a private residence. Commercial lock and key techs, as the name indicates, cater to business clients.

Residential lock and key techs take care of the needs of customers that are living in apartments, brick houses, family type houses and the rest of private residential properties. It does not matter if the house is huge or bigger than a business establishment. A residential lock and key tech specializes in unlocking residential systems.

Knowing the difference is important because lock and key techs assigned to residential properties often use the same devices for all kinds of private properties. They do not bring equipment that can open commercial establishments. Often, private residences have similar needs when it comes to locked doors, key replication, automated security systems and others.

A business commercial lock and key tech service specializes in opening business premises. Even if your locked door is in a small cubicle then you need a commercial lock and key tech not a residential one.

Commercial or business lock and key techs are skilled in unlocking more sophisticated business systems such as a coded door. They use complex devices that are capable of opening more complicated systems.

lock and key tech commercial services often involve servicing big establishments with plenty of cubicles. Business lock and key techs are also needed in company warehouses, freezer rooms, storage areas, computer server farms and security areas.

Both residential and commercial lock and key tech can provide the right service required by the owner. Getting a commercial lock and key tech to address your business needs is important because they come equipped with the right devices. On the other hand, private residences and small businesses often use similar lock, a residential lock and key tech can quickly provide the proper solution to your needs. Whatever it is that you demand, be it residential or business, a Beaverton lock and key tech is always there to help you.

If you want to discover the real outback Queensland it is worth knowing that here are a lot of roads that require you to report to police before you leave one end and report to them again when you arrive at your destination. This makes it easier to locate you of you fail to turn up where and when you were expected. Many of these roads can be attempted in a normal car but generally it is less hard-going in a 4WD.

Whichever means of transport you decide upon, it is very important that you are carefully prepared. Carry important spare parts is a good idea as trying to arrange a tow in these remote parts takes a long time and can be very expensive. Its also advisable to travel with a high frequency out-post radio transmitter that is equipped to pick up the Royal Flying Doctor Service bases. Mobile phones cannot be relied upon in such remote areas.

Water is essential you will need to carry quite a lot in the case of a disaster ” it is recommended that 20litres per person is sensible and of course food is a good idea too. Most tracks have an idea time of year to travel them. For example in Queenslands south-west, it is not advisable to attempt the tough tracks in summer (November to March) mainly because of the huge amount of dust, which increase mechanical malfunctions. In the North, travelling in the wet season may be impossible due to flooding and mud.

One of the best ways to ensure that you are traveling the proper roads, and are fully prepared for your journey, is to speak with the local police. They will advise you on which tracks are open and what is the suitable car for your travels. Another useful service is the RACQ (Royal Automobile Club of Queensland. When you join, they will cover up to $95 per year, and offer a 24 hour emergency roadside assistance service. If something were to happen, they will promptly arrive and try to correct the situation. If the problem can not be corrected they will arrange towing for you, making them a great asset. RACQ can also provide you with maps, weather and road conditions, and they sell a range of travel and driving products that will help with your travels.

If you should happen to come into car trouble sit is very important that you remain with your car, as it is easier to spot a car then it is to spot a person. Never wander off into the wilderness, as individuals have been found dead, from thirst, long after their car was found.

If you are looking into car hire Gold Coast you can look online for great rentals. Also I have heard that car rentals Coolangatta will also provide you with some amazing deals. To rent you vehicle today log onto www.budget.com.au.

In 1990 I received a free AOL disc in the mail and used it to go “online.” AOL was fun for a variety of years, but a friend told me back in 1995 that you do not need AOL to surf the Internet. In all honesty I didn’t know that at that time. A few days later, I said good-bye to AOL and “HELLO!” to the superhighway of information. People that previously had no interest in PC’s are now running to computer stores so they could surf the internet and retrieve their e-mail.

The Internet really was different back then. Nearly everyone was on dial-up, so web pages and sites were simpler. It was easier to find “information” then because the net hadn’t yet been taken over by commerce sites. Forums and chat rooms had been around since the early ’80s, but were clunky and difficult to use. AOL’s interface helped make it much easier.

While blogging began around 1994, it didn’t start to take off until ‘99 with the introduction of “blogging tools.” When political pundits glommed on to blogs in ‘02, the blogosphere really took off. Now, there’s a blog for everything. This is good news and bad news. For researchers like me, when I do a search, nearly half of the links are for product, services, books, auction listings, and forum or blog comments. At first, I was kind of annoyed with the Corvette forum links because searches often linked to things such as, “I like side-pipes too.” But when I took some time to go to the Corvette forum’s home page, I was pleasantly surprised to find a rich, comprehensive information source.

Take a Corvette forum such as SmokinVette.com. The Corvette hobby is huge because it covers a 57 year lineage of cars in six distinct generations. SmokinVette has Corvette forums for all six generations. Once you’re into your generation’s forum, cruise around, and check out the topics. Every forum is unique, so spend some time poking around the links, controls, and drop-down boxes. It’s like wandering around a big box, home improvement store. It’s a little overwhelming at first, but it doesn’t take long and you know just where to find that sky hook you’re looking for.

I am sometimes in the mood to look at Corvette pictures, and SmokinVette has an enormous collection of them. What would a high-testosterone topic like Corvettes be without an assortment of Corvette Girls? The answer is it would be boring! However, you will not find anything too over the top, as they are classy pictures at SmokinVette, but you will find a lot of SmokinHot babes. And the last comment is only a compliment, ladies.

Owning a pleasure boat is a lot more economically challenging than owning a Corvette, but you could possibly spend extra money on things such as personalizing and refurbishing your Corvette. You can find a “Vette Parts” section in SmokinVette, which can help you locate anything from a crate engine or supercharger to LED lights or used parts. You may have thought that there is a limited range of parts and you will be impressed to know that is not true. You will quickly discover there are a variety of parts being offered by very creative Corvette know-it-alls.

But don’t just be a voyeur. After you go through the free registration, you can add your two-cents to any of the forums, start a new forum topic, and ask a Corvette question, or post photos and images. Corvette people are VERY helpful. When you own a Vette, or are an enthusiast, you’re a member of a uniquely American club. The whole “Save the Wave” thing got started as a way for Corvette owners to acknowledge one another on the road. Corvettes aren’t just “cars.” They’re something more, something intangible that you don’t begin to “get” until you drive one. Driving a Corvette is a uniquely sensual experience. You don’t just “ride” in a Corvette, you DRIVE a Corvette because they are designed and made to be DRIVEN. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve read or heard a new Corvette owner say, “I never really understood this car until I drove one.” That’s the “GOTCHA!” moment.

Make some time, get comfortable, and check out some Corvette forums, such as SmokinVette.com. It’s very fun, educational, engaging, and a good way to meet like-minded people the “get” the Corvette passion. Enough said! -KST

For additional info or questions about Why A Corvette Forum Matters please see the Smokinvette Team at www.smokinvette.com

In these tough financial times most folks need vacations more than ever. As well, they also want to save a lot of money. One economical solution is taking the family car and driving to and from your holiday destination instead of flying there.

If you are planning to drive, it may also make sense to take a few steps to protect yourself and family from auto thieves. Having a car thief steal your car, your luggage, other items of value in your trunk could really wreck what was supposed to be a fun filled and relaxing trip.

Even by taking all the numerous precautions to prevent auto theft when you travel, very determined professional car thieves can still manage to take any vehicle if they want it bad enough. Did you see the movie Gone In 60 Seconds starring Nicolas Cage? However, you can still dramatically lessen the odds of becoming a victim of auto theft to almost zero.

Many of these auto theft preventative measures are common sense and cost nothing to do. So it might make sense to implement them not only when you travel by car on your holidays, but also in your every day driving.

Firstly, you should never take it for granted that you are immune from car thieves when traveling, or that your vehicle is not really worth stealing.

Keep in mind that sometimes these thieves are after more than your vehicle, luggage, or any valuables that might be in your car. They may only want an older car to take a joy ride in or steal it for its parts.

They might also be after your vehicle documents for identity theft, or they could be contemplating robbing your residence while you are away on holidays. Where would they find this important information? From the auto registration and car insurance papers which are usually located conveniently in the vehicles glove compartment.

The best way is to eliminate this problem is to keep these documents on your person at all times when traveling on your vacation.

The second best way is to reduce this problem by hiding these documents really well in the trunk of your car. Some police forces in cities that have high auto theft crime incidents recommend this. Remember to tell everyone who is traveling with you where these documents are hidden in the trunk.

Here are some more ways you can lessen the chance of having your holidays ruined by car thieves. If you can manage to implement a number of these suggestions, you can dramatically lessen the odds of becoming another victim of auto theft when you travel.

Make sure you always close your vehicles windows tightly and lock your car each time you leave it parked, even if its only for just short period of time.

A real invitation to lose your vehicle is to leave it idling while unattended. Under no circumstance should you ever do this. Don’t even think about it.

Similarly, you should not leave your vehicles keys in the ignition or hidden anywhere in car. That also includes a second set of keys. Professional car thieves can easily find any keys hidden in the usual places very quickly. Keep an extra set of keys on your person.

Do not leave any valuables in your vehicle, even if they cant be seen from the outside of your car. If possible, you should take them with you.

However, if you must leave valuables in your vehicle, make sure that they are locked up inside your trunk. When you do this, look around to make sure that no one is watching what you do, or better still stop, pull over, and put them in your trunk before you arrive at the place you’re going. Prying eyes could be anywhere.

When parking your vehicle in public areas, turn you front wheels either to the left or right before turning your ignition off. This will engage the steering wheel locking mechanism in the steering column which can make your car a little more difficult to steal.

By engaging the emergency brake after you have parked and turned the motor off, you may also make your vehicle harder to tow away.

For front wheel and rear wheel drive vehicles you should park them somewhat differently when in an underground garage. Front wheel drive autos should be parked nose in and the rear wheel drives, nose out. Then just turn your tires to the left or right. Again, this may make your car harder to tow.

Its always best to park in an attendant controlled parking lot rather than an unattended one. If it is a place where there is valet parking, only give the attendant your door and ignition key. They don’t need any of the other keys on your key chain.

In public places at dusk and at night, always park in a well lighted area that has a lot of pedestrian traffic. Keep in mind that most auto thieves prefer to work under the cover of darkness.

If possible, avoid parking next or near to any obstruction, such as a large truck, fence, hedge, or anything that blocks an unobstructed view of your vehicle to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

When you are staying in a place that has gated, secure parking, be sure that the gate has completely closed after entering or leaving so that a thief doesn’t sneak in to the parking area behind your vehicle.

If you observe any suspicious activity like a person or group of people milling around or near your vehicle you should call the police.

Here are some of the anti-theft devices that you can install for maximum protection. You may have some of these products already installed in your vehicle.

You can use a very visible after-market steering wheel locking bar. Most car thieves will likely move on to easier prey/greener pastures. Other less visible after-market products are locks for gas pedals, brake pedals, as well as armored collars that fit around the steering column which protects the ignition. For any manual shift vehicles you can also use an after-market shifter lock. These are effective but not highly visible to prying eyes.

Another thing that you can easily do is to have your mechanic install a hood lock that will prevent easy access to your vehicles battery and security system.

A loud vehicle alarm system and a highly visible alarm sticker on your windshield can be worth its weight in gold when combined with the addition of a number of other anti-theft security options.

The best vehicle protection is a passive electronic immobilizer which automatically disables the motor when the ignition is turned off. Its not an inexpensive device to install but it is well worth it for your peace of mind. There are a few other benefits you could receive by installing an electronic immobilizer in your vehicle. Some auto insurance companies may offer a discount on your policy if you can confirm that you’ve had one installed. You also may get more money for your vehicle if you sell it down the road.

Last, but not least, check to make sure you have adequate insurance coverage on your vehicle including theft and damage before you travel by car on any vacation.

Every year, millions of people choose to rent a car whether for business or pleasure. Because there are so many car hire agency offering a wide range of prices and options, it can be a time consuming and frustrating experience trying to get a good deal. Fortunately, there are a number of things you can do to narrow down your search and end up with a great deal. Below are a number of tips on finding rental car bargains:

1. If you wait until the last few days to rent a car, chances are you will find a good deal. It is important to start a few weeks before your rental date so you have enough time to thoroughly research your options and get a good rate. As well, you want to make sure that your preferred car is available for rent. Also, starting early allows you to comparison shop. The internet is a great source to research car rental companies and comparison shop.

2. Before you search for a rental company, determine how long you will be renting a car. The longer you rent a car, the better rate you will get. Companies will usually offer better rates if you rent for a week or more. There are also certain days of the week where one can get a better rate. For instance, most companies will offer special weekend rates.

3. When researching car rental companies, it is important to find out their minimum mileage for free program before they start charging for each mile driven. Mileage rates can vary and the minimum mileage for free can also vary. If you will be doing a lot of driving, make sure you go with a rental company that offers a high mileage minimum for free. Also, check to see what the mileage rates are as they can vary. If you find a bargain, book the car, and then keep searching in case you find a better deal. Make sure you understand their cancellation policy so that if you do cancel your reservation, you will not end up paying a cancellation fee.

4. Because the internet has many car rental companies competing for your business, look for companies that offer special discounts and incentives. For instance, there are companies that will offer discounts if you make your reservation online. If booking online, make sure you read all of the terms and conditions. If you have any concerns or questions, contact the company by phone for clarification. Also, look for coupon or promotion codes to put into the booking form on the company’s site.

5. Check with your credit card company to see if they have any special deals with rental companies. As well, if you are a member of AAA or AARP, you can often get a discount on your car rental. You can also check with your employer to see if they will let you reserve your car through them and get an employee rate. Your auto insurance provider may also provide discounts on car rental rates.

Before you book your rental, it is important to always read the fine print of the rental contract. There may be a number of hidden fees and taxes causing the price to drastically increase. There may be some services that you do not need. If you carefully research your options, you will likely get a great bargain on your next car rental.

Discount truck and car rental Sydney Australia provides free express pickup service from our many locations for your personal, business or holiday car hire sydney.

Locksmiths do all types of jobs. A lot of the time, they are busy replacing locks or letting someone inside when they locked themselves out of a vehicle, home, or business. If you find yourself in a serious emergency you probably are not concerned about how much money you spend. You are normally only concerned about getting rid of the problem in front of you. If that is the case, this article will give you a heads up on normal costs to help ensure you avoid scammers and pinpoint a reliable Brooklyn NY Locksmith.

A lot of companies are manipulated by shady people who try to swindle customers in immediate need of a lock expert into paying a crazy dollar amount for something as easy as a automotive lockout. Reliable companies abide by a sort of average on where they establish the charges. Locksmith companies have to ensure the pricing is honest and customer satisfaction is high in order to be successful.

Usually in Brooklyn, companies offer unlocking services to offices and homes in the neighborhood of $15.00 to $30.00. Prices fluctuate due to the types of locks available and does not include labor costs. If its an automobile lock-out, the prices will normally be slightly more. Those services usually will be anywhere from $15.00 to $55.00, without labor costs. The additional charge is due to the fact that car and truck locks involve multiple forms of tools, thus the locksmith might need specialty tools in an effort to open the lock.

If you want to unlock a more specialized device, the charges will usually be a little more. Technologically advanced locking systems can be most forms of security access locks such as types with a key card and biometrics. These locking systems are way more difficult to crack and demand more training and knowledge. Most professional locksmiths should be able to unlock your doors in no time, therefore all the labor charges should be fairly low.

Finally, if you still have a question about pricing you should contact a locksmith in Brooklyn. They can give you a better price estimate.

You want to look back with fond memories of your wedding day, it is one of the most monumental days of your life, and one that you would want to live in style. The day itself takes a lot of organisation, one aspect of the day which is often over looked or left to the last minute is the wedding transport. Traditionally it is the groom’s responsibility to organize the wedding transport, but many grooms lack of knowledge and understanding make them unaware of exactly how important this day is for the bride-to-be.

Some grooms even give this responsibility to the best man and if you are a bride-to-be and are worried that your groom lacks the understanding on how important it is to find the best transport for you, you may just have to do it yourself. Here are some answers to the frequently asked questions on how to get the most out of your wedding car hire, even if you don’t know a lot about wedding transport.

How many weddings cars will I need? Think about the journey you will make and who will be in the wedding cars, it is important that you think about where the pick up points are and exactly who you would like to be in the cars. How many bridesmaids, flower girls and pageboys will you be having, this will determine how many cars you will need. If you want to stick to the traditional car then why not consider hiring a classic seven seat Daimler Limousine? Also, think about asking a relative or friend to take any large bags or luggage as not all cars have enough storage space.

What size of car should I have? Think about your dress and your comfort in the car, you need to make sure that the car is big enough to fit your dress in comfortably, particularly if the dress has a long train. The wedding car hire company will be happy to advise and to show you suitable cars, but consider the style of your outfit and how this may impact on the car that you choose. You will be able to do this by making an appointment to view the cars in person.

What insurance should the car company have? Ask if the company has public liability insurance. There are many hobbyist wedding car owners out there that do not operate as a proper business. One easy way to sort through these is to check for wedding hire insurance and public liability insurance, it is an expensive cost.

Will the wedding car be booked for more than one wedding per day? Make sure you get exclusive use of the car, & that the wedding car hire company only book one car, per wedding, per day. This means that the car is not double booked and the service is focused on your wedding day only. Some firms only have one or two cars and will try to make as much money as they can during the key wedding season. They may also have to leave for another wedding or charge by the hour with hidden additional costs if your wedding should overrun.

Many times it is seen that wedding car hire is not given the importance at all and friends and family members think that they can use their vehicles in order to ferry the bride and groom to the wedding reception. If you want to travel in style at your wedding, wedding car hire is the ideal choice; it will make a positive contribution to what is sure to be one of the most memorable days of your life.

The 15 year run for the C3 “Shark” generation of the Corvette that stands today is the first model, the 1968 Corvette. The most stubborn of all the Corvette generations is the C3 that ran until 1982. There was selling records in the late 1960’s, large numbers in the 1970’s despite gas shortages and holding until the early 1980’s. The 1968 Corvette started this prolonged existence which brought a new design that would encourage Corvettes that are driven today with the C6 generation of 2005 to present.

The 1968 Corvette actually got its start design in early 1964 by designer Larry Shinoda under the watchful direction of Bill Mitchell. By 1965 the Mako Shark II Concept Car was brought to the public eye by way of car shows and the 1968 Corvette would be an almost identical product by way of looks.

Once the auto shows were done the Shinoda/Mitchell design was sent to Chevrolet styling under David Hollis. The design began to take shape using the existing Sting Ray chassis and the mid-engine design of the Mako Shark II was dropped. The 1968 Corvette was basically the same car from the beltline down just with softer contours. As it began to form there were obvious overtones from the Mako Shark II design.

Some of the new innovations to the 1968 Corvette included:

*Total redesign of the body. *Removable T-Top roof panels and back window on the coupe model. *Redesigned interior. *Optional three-speed Hydra-matic transmission to replace the previous two-speed Powerglide.

With the many new features to the 1968 Corvette, the engine remained the same and was a carryover from the previous year. This is not to say that the new Vette was at any lack of power, in fact quite the contrary. Road & Track conducted several speed tests with the 1968 Corvette and found that the small-block 327 V-8 put out 350-bhp and had a reported top speed of 128 miles per hour. Even beefier, the big-block put out a whopping 400-bhp and could go 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.7 seconds.

For first time the Sting Ray name was not attached to the Chevrolet muscle machine which was new to the 1968 Corvette. It was advertised using the Sting Ray name. The Sting Ray name would one year later find its way back to the Corvette.

General Motors tried to keep the new design of the 1968 Corvette a secret, however, it was unveiled a few weeks earlier than the official unveiling. Prior to the time the1968 Corvette was revealed to the public the toy maker Mattel released a new Hot Wheels line that shocked the General Motors executives because it was an unauthorized version of the custom Corvette.

Corvette fans loved the new 1968 Corvette, however, the critics gave it a poor review. This did not bother consumers and at the end of the year Chevrolet’s new Corvette had the last laugh with a record sale of 28, 566 cars sold which was an increase from the 5,000 from the last year of the Sting Ray.
